CAPITALISM: A LOVE STORY |
|
|
I don't even hide the fact that Michael Moore annoys me. I have found little to like
about his films save their technical merit. After his breakthrough film "Bowling for Columbine" - which I did like - I find his films not
made for amusing as far attending to his own political and social commentary. Two hour editorials. Much like 60-Minutes, Moore edits miles of film together to make himself appear
the only righteous person in the country. |

His films depict a character who would describe the water while you are drowning. He offers no
solutions and skews the facts to his side - neither left or right. That is not the meaning of documentary-style filming. This time Moore takes on the recent government bailout of the banks and financial
institutions. We know about it because it was already in the news. Moreover, with the help of Twitter, Facebook,
TZM and other websites... plus CNN, we already know how the bankers got bonuses and golden parachutes! |

So Moore is simply charging to retell the same story. No solutions. No new territory. It's not even funny. You can get better coverage and truly humorous commentary from Bill Mahr without
shelling out $10. For die-hard fans of Moore films, "Capitalism: A Love Story" is
right for you. For the rest of us who have moved on and need to spend our bucks on more important (or
at least entertaining) stuff... well... my opinion of Moore hasn't changed in the last paragraph. --GEOFFREY BURTON
